The UAE Aid Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build a modern hospital in the Aden Governorate, marking a significant step to improve healthcare services in Yemen. This initiative aims to enhance medical support in a region that has faced numerous challenges in accessing quality health care.

The MoU was signed by Sultan Mohamed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, and Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, Governor of Aden. Sultan Mohamed Al Shamsi highlighted the UAE’s prominent role in global healthcare initiatives and its commitment to humanitarian efforts that contribute to community development and well-being.
He stated that the project embodies the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and aligns with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The aim is to improve living conditions for the Yemeni people and ensure the availability of essential medical services.
Al Shamsi further elaborated that the UAE Aid Agency is collaborating with various governments, international organizations, and relevant institutions to deliver vital health services. This effort is part of the UAE’s foreign aid policy, which seeks to support humanitarian and developmental initiatives in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Governor Ahmed Hamed Lamlas expressed his appreciation for the continuous support from the UAE leadership and people. He emphasized the hospital’s importance in significantly enhancing healthcare services in Aden, which will benefit multiple sectors including education, health, and infrastructure.
