The UAE has introduced a new suite of consular services exclusively for Golden Visa holders, offering comprehensive protection abroad — including assistance in emergencies and even evacuation during crises.
Announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP), the initiative aims to extend state-level support to long-term residents and investors holding the Golden Visa.
Among the newly launched services is the Return Document — a temporary digital travel document issued to Golden Visa holders who lose or damage their passports while abroad. It allows them to safely return to the UAE without delay.
The Return Document is typically issued within 30 minutes of application and remains valid for one entry into the UAE within seven days. Once back, the passport must be renewed through the holder’s national embassy or consulate.
In addition, the new package includes:
• 24/7 Consular Hotline: A dedicated emergency line (+971 2 493 1133) available worldwide for Golden Visa holders.
• Crisis and Evacuation Assistance: Support during natural disasters, political unrest, or other emergencies abroad.
• Repatriation Coordination: Assistance with the return of remains or local burial arrangements in cases of death abroad.
According to MoFA, this initiative reinforces the UAE’s vision of global protection for residents and investors, ensuring that Golden Visa holders enjoy the same level of consular care and security as UAE nationals in times of crisis.
By expanding the scope of benefits, the UAE continues to position its Golden Visa as a long-term residence program backed by comprehensive international support and emergency protection.
