Through this program, Dubai Culture seeks to raise awareness among families and children about the importance of preserving local heritage. This will be achieved through a variety of family workshops held on the first Saturday of each month. One notable workshop, titled “Doors of Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood,” is scheduled for June 28, which will enable children to discover the artistic features, decorations, and aesthetic elements of the neighborhood’s doors, reflecting the unique architectural style of the area. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a seminar called “Barajeel and the Magic Brush,” organized by Dubai Culture on July 5, and a workshop titled “Book Markers Inspired by Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood” on August 2, 2025.

The program also includes live showcases of Emirati crafts, providing a rich knowledge experience for visitors interested in exploring the secrets of traditional crafts, their types, and techniques. The agenda will feature interactive workshops supervised by experts from the Heritage Center for Traditional Crafts, including a workshop on “Qarqoor Making” on July 12. On July 16, 2025, the public can look forward to a session titled “The Palm Tree: A Tale of Legends,” along with other workshops such as “Saffafah” and “Qard Al Burqa” scheduled for August.

Mariam Al Tamimi, Acting Director of the Heritage Sites Department at Dubai Culture, stated that “the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood is one of the most important destinations in Dubai and its cultural landmarks, thanks to its service facilities and the unique creative experiences it offers visitors.” She emphasized the authority’s commitment to preserving both tangible and intangible cultural heritage as part of its cultural responsibilities, which represent one of its sectoral priorities.
