The announcement was made during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, which is recognized as the region’s premier travel and tourism event. Travel companies have historically struggled with issues such as inefficient card management, fraud risks, slow reconciliation processes, poor visibility into cash flow, limited rewards, and expensive foreign exchange fees. Qashio for Travel aims to resolve these problems by allowing businesses to issue instant virtual cards linked to each Passenger Name Record (PNR), set precise spending limits, and access real-time transaction data in multiple currencies.

With capabilities for seamless payments in AED, SAR, USD, EUR, and GBP, the platform helps travel agencies manage foreign exchange exposure while streamlining back-office operations, maximizing profit margins, and reducing booking costs and fraud risks. Additionally, Qashio’s automated reconciliation features allow travel businesses to eliminate manual processes that are prone to errors, leading to quicker and more accurate financial reporting.

Qashio for Travel equips online travel agencies, travel management companies, destination management companies, and corporate travel teams with essential tools to optimize cash flow, track expenses at the itinerary level, and earn rebates on each transaction. The platform’s launch coincides with the UAE’s burgeoning travel sector, which is projected to contribute $100 billion to the national economy.

Armin Moradi, CEO and Co-Founder of Qashio, expressed excitement about the launch, stating that it reflects the energy and innovation present in the travel industry. He noted that travel businesses in the UAE have long required a more efficient and transparent method for managing expenditures. He emphasized that the new product is tailored to meet the fast-paced demands of high-volume operations in the sector. He also pointed out that the UAE ranks sixth globally for international tourist spending, with receipts totaling $51.9 billion.

Salima Gutieva, Visa’s Vice President and Country Manager for UAE, highlighted the Middle East as one of the fastest-growing tourism regions worldwide. She stated that the travel sector plays a crucial role in the region’s economic diversification. Gutieva expressed pride in collaborating with Qashio to modernize payment solutions for travel companies while contributing to the long-term tourism goals of the region.

Earlier this year, Qashio and Visa initiated the Visa Commercial Choice Travel program, pledging over AED 100 million to support the travel industry across the UAE, MENA, Europe, and the UK. This initiative allows travel companies to issue Qashio cards in various currencies and integrate seamlessly with booking platforms and global distribution systems (GDS), enhancing the payment process’s automation, efficiency, and security.
