His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, witnessed the signing of a strategic agreement between the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) and Firefly Aerospace. This partnership aims to support the Emirates Lunar Mission, which focuses on exploring the Moon and advancing the UAE’s capabilities in space exploration.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the significance of this collaboration in enhancing the UAE’s position in the global space industry. He noted that such agreements are crucial for fostering innovation and driving progress in space technology. The Emirates Lunar Mission is expected to contribute significantly to scientific research and technological advancements.
The agreement outlines the roles and responsibilities of both MBRSC and Firefly Aerospace in the mission. It includes plans for developing a lunar lander capable of delivering payloads to the Moon’s surface. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader goals of expanding its space exploration efforts and establishing a presence in the lunar environment.
