Sharjah has announced a new category of leave aimed at supporting women in the emirate. The policy, known as “Care Leave,” was recently approved by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This initiative is designed specifically for female employees who give birth to a sick child or a child with disabilities who requires constant companionship.

The Care Leave will begin after the conclusion of maternity leave and can be extended upon approval from the relevant authority. Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, shared this information during a phone conversation on the “Direct Line” program, which is broadcast on both radio and television, with Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
