EVIQ and Lotus Form Partnership to Enhance EV Charging Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia

EVIQ, a prominent electric vehicle infrastructure company in Saudi Arabia, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lotus, a high-performance automotive and powertrain technology company. This partnership was announced on May 4, 2025, and is facilitated through Al Walan Trading, Lotus’s official distributor in the Kingdom.

The main goal of this agreement is to develop advanced electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions specifically designed for Lotus customers in Saudi Arabia. This initiative supports the country’s commitment to sustainable transportation and aims to enhance the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in line with Saudi Vision 2030. As part of the collaboration, Lotus showrooms will feature dedicated EV charging stations for Lotus owners, alongside home charging sockets provided with every vehicle purchase.

Key cooperation areas outlined in the partnership include improved data-sharing capabilities, which will help enhance customer experiences, maximize efficiency, and ensure seamless integration with Lotus’s digital platforms. Customers will have easy access to charging services through existing Lotus applications. The agreement also emphasizes knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote awareness about electric vehicles throughout the Kingdom.

“This strategic collaboration with Lotus marks another milestone in transforming the green mobility ecosystem in Saudi Arabia,” said Mohammed Bakr Qazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, according to UAE News 24/7. He highlighted the combination of EVIQ’s fast-charging infrastructure expertise and Lotus’s excellence in electric performance vehicles as a way to enhance customer experience and accelerate EV adoption in alignment with national sustainability goals.

Abdulaziz Wallan, Vice Chairman of Wallan Holding Company, noted that this partnership aligns with the ambitions of Vision 2030 aimed at promoting clean energy and sustainable transportation. He stated that it will create an integrated network of smart charging stations fully compatible with Lotus’s latest technologies, ensuring a seamless and secure charging experience for Lotus EV users in Saudi Arabia. The agreement will also involve technical expertise exchange and collaborative campaigns to foster an electric vehicle culture.

Wallan Investment, a subsidiary of Wallan Holding Co, is one of the major shareholders in Lotus Technology, a NASDAQ-listed company that focuses on premium electric vehicles, energy and motor systems, and smart driving technologies.

Through strategic collaborations like this one, EVIQ is reaffirming its commitment to developing the national electric vehicle ecosystem. The company aims to deploy over 5 000 EV chargers across key locations in Saudi Arabia by 2030. This partnership with Lotus is expected to significantly contribute to creating a comprehensive charging network for EV owners, reducing carbon emissions from transportation, and expediting the shift to sustainable mobility in the region.
