Seesaw, a leading global company focused on PreK-12 learning experiences, has announced its acquisition of Little Thinking Minds, an edtech startup based in the MENA region that specializes in Arabic literacy solutions. This strategic move is expected to enhance Seesaw’s presence in the MENA region, where it is already trusted by over 25 million educators, students, and families.

With this acquisition, Seesaw aims to integrate its award-winning interactive and AI-driven learning tools with Little Thinking Minds’ evidence-based Arabic literacy curricula. The goal is to improve educational experiences for PreK-12 students, educators, and families across the MENA region. Seesaw plans to launch its first Arabic-language platform in 2026, underscoring its commitment to providing authentic and multilingual learning experiences.
The partnership will also benefit ministries and school leaders by offering data-driven insights through interactive dashboards and student portfolios. This will provide a clearer understanding of student progress and learning outcomes. Matthew Given, CEO of Seesaw, highlighted that this acquisition is a significant step in their mission to create engaging learning experiences, stating that Little Thinking Minds has a strong reputation for improving Arabic literacy.
Founded in 2004, Little Thinking Minds has focused on addressing the literacy gap for Arabic-speaking students, particularly in the MENA region. Its platforms, including I Read Arabic, I Start Arabic, and the Mizan Assessment Platform, have supported over 400 000 students across more than ten countries with effective digital literacy solutions. According to independent research, the programs have achieved a 25% improvement in literacy levels, making them popular among public and private schools, as well as refugee education programs.
Rama Kayyali, co-founder and CEO of Little Thinking Minds, expressed pride in joining the Seesaw family. She noted that their combined efforts would enhance their impact and deliver culturally relevant learning experiences to children across the MENA region and beyond. This acquisition is part of a broader effort to reinforce Seesaw’s commitment to multilingual education and expand its reach into Arabic-speaking markets.
Seesaw and Little Thinking Minds currently serve over 800 000 users across more than 3 000 schools, ministries, and school groups in the MENA region. With their combined resources, they plan to rapidly expand their global reach, further enhancing educational opportunities for students.
