The UAE recently held AI Pandora: The Mystery Box Challenge at GEMS Cambridge International Private School in Sharjah. This significant event was organized by Meritus AI in partnership with PedTech Global, and it attracted over 35 schools, 70 teams, and more than 200 participants who showcased their skills in artificial intelligence (AI).

The AI Pandora Challenge provided students with hands-on experience using advanced AI technologies, such as machine learning, image recognition, computer vision, speech-to-text, and GPT-powered innovations. The competition aimed to emphasize real-world applications of AI, equipping students with essential skills necessary for success in the digital age.

This initiative reflected the commitment of Meritus AI and PedTech Global to promote innovation and critical thinking among students. In the competition’s practical segment, participants utilized the Meritus AI Kit over a 15-day period to explore advanced AI concepts, including image recognition and gesture processing. Mr. Ramana Prasad, Founder & Chairman of Meritus AI, stated that competitions like AI Pandora are vital in inspiring young minds to innovate and help solidify the Gulf region’s role as a global AI hub.

The AI Pandora Challenge featured two main categories: “AI Innovators Crafting the Future,” which involved coding with Scratch AI Extension, and “AI Hackathon,” where students built solutions with the AI Innovators Kit. After several rounds of intense coding and problem-solving, participants showcased AI-driven solutions that highlighted their technical skills and creativity. Winners received plaques, certificates, and the prestigious AI Meritus Kit, along with an AI book for their school to encourage further learning.

The event successfully brought together leaders in AI, educators, and school officials, emphasizing the importance of collaborative learning in AI education. Special recognition was given to PedTech Global, Meritus AI, and GEMS Cambridge International Private School for their vital roles in hosting this milestone event.
