In a groundbreaking move for the delivery services sector, Virgin Mobile UAE has announced the launch of electric motorcycles specifically for its delivery riders. This initiative, developed in partnership with Axiom Telecom, aims to provide an eco-friendly alternative that reduces emissions and aligns with Dubai’s sustainable development goals, as part of the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030.

The new electric bikes from Virgin Mobile are designed with reliability and efficiency in mind. They feature a central control system and extended battery life, making them suitable for urban delivery services. Additionally, these bikes offer optional app connectivity, providing delivery riders with a smart, fuel-free transportation solution.
According to Zawya, Rob Beswick, Managing Director at Virgin Mobile UAE, emphasized that the e-bike initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its business operations. He stated, “Our e-bike initiative reflects our commitment to integrating sustainability into everyday business practices. By offering a cleaner, smarter transportation solution, we’re contributing to Dubai’s environmental goals while redefining what it means to lead responsibly in telecommunications.”
Furthermore, Virgin Mobile is also encouraging the adoption of eSIM technology to minimize waste. For customers who prefer physical SIM cards, the company offers eco-conscious delivery options, including the use of its electric bikes for select deliveries, thereby complementing its digital-first approach.
Fahad Al Bannai, CEO of Axiom Telecom, expressed excitement about entering sustainable last-mile delivery with this initiative. He noted that this collaboration with Virgin Mobile underscores their commitment to exploring cleaner and more efficient delivery solutions, aligning with the broader UAE vision for sustainability and clean energy.
