The Ministry of Education (MoE) has officially launched a nationwide competition for public schools called ‘My School… My Identity’. This initiative invites both students and teachers to creatively transform their schools into lively spaces that celebrate the rich Emirati cultural heritage.

According to WAM, Sarah Al Amiri, the Minister of Education, said that the competition aims to empower participants to express their creativity through designs that reflect the UAE’s heritage and cultural identity. She stated that the ministry’s goal is to create more engaging learning environments, which will motivate students to pursue their future aspirations.
Al Amiri remarked that the Ministry of Education is dedicated to improving national education outcomes through various initiatives designed to inspire excellence. She highlighted that this competition embodies the belief that education extends beyond traditional classroom settings, allowing for creativity, innovation, and cultural expression. By supporting students and educators, the initiative aims to nurture future custodians of Emirati heritage and create vibrant, interactive learning spaces that help students unlock their full potential.
Mohammed Al Qasim, Undersecretary of the MoE, added that the competition would enhance the quality of life for public school students. He pointed out that it also fosters a culture of teamwork and innovation, as students and teachers work together to reimagine their educational environments.
The Ministry of Education has established specific criteria for selecting the winning schools. These criteria include embodying Emirati heritage, aligning designs with educational goals, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the designs, demonstrating creativity and innovation, promoting teamwork, and maintaining efficiency. Additionally, the ministry has set technical, health, and safety requirements for the implementation of artwork in school facilities.
A judging panel composed of experts from various entities, along with Emirati artists and specialists from the Ministry of Education, will review and assess the entries based on the competition’s terms and standards. Ultimately, the panel will select ten winning schools.
The MoE has allocated financial prizes for the top ten winners, with AED100,000 for first place, AED70,000 for second, AED50,000 for third, and AED25,000 each for the fourth to tenth places. Schools are encouraged to submit their entries between 20th January and 28th March 2025.
