Crypto.com, a leading global regulated cryptocurrency exchange licensed by the UAE’s Dubai Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA), has formed a partnership with Emarat Energy. Emarat operates over 155 gas stations throughout the UAE and will now offer customers the option to make payments with cryptocurrency.

The expansion of this service is contingent on regulatory approvals and customer demand. The introduction of crypto payment options at fuel stations represents a significant move towards increasing the utility of cryptocurrency in the UAE.
Mohammed al Hakim, President of Crypto.com UAE, emphasized the importance of enhancing the utility of cryptocurrency. He stated, “The UAE is a cryptocurrency market leader, and we are excited to partner with Emarat, the region’s leading petroleum brand and serving tens of thousands of customers every day, in bringing digital assets into its next era.”
Through a unique initiative called Project Landmark, Crypto.com and Emarat will launch the Crypto.com Emarat Service Station at Emarat’s Al Ameen Station located on Al Wasl Road. This will become the first service station in the world to feature naming rights for fuel stations, showcasing the Crypto.com brand.
Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Chief Retail Officer & Senior Vice President—Marketing at Emarat, noted that this partnership aims to enhance customer experience. He remarked that the collaboration introduces a new era of convenience and possibility for customers while positioning Emarat as a forward-thinking brand.
Both Crypto.com users and Emarat customers will benefit from exclusive offers and a joint promotional program designed to enhance the customer experience. This partnership reflects a growing trend among retail entities in the UAE, which are increasingly collaborating with regulated crypto service providers to facilitate stablecoin payments and better integrate with the UAE banking sector.
In recent developments, the UAE MGX sovereign wealth fund invested $2 billion in Binance using a stablecoin, and a Trump Tower project is set to allow purchases made in cryptocurrency.
