The International Free Zone Authority (IFZA) has strengthened its strategic partnership with the Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft e.V (BVMW) to promote business and investment opportunities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Zukunftstag (Future Day) event held in Berlin. This initiative aims to enhance the commercial and economic ties between the UAE and Germany.

This marks the second consecutive year that IFZA has collaborated with BVMW at Zukunftstag, highlighting their shared goal of expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The partnership aligns with IFZA’s mission to connect Dubai with the world and support the Dubai government’s D33 initiative, which aims to drive economic growth.
Jochen Knecht, CEO of IFZA, stated that the organization has a strong record of supporting the German business community and expressed excitement about participating in this significant event for the second year. He emphasized that business has the power to unite people and foster international expansion while reinforcing the UAE’s economy through increased Foreign Direct Investment.
H.E. Ahmed Al Attar, the UAE’s Ambassador to Germany, attended the event and praised it as a valuable platform for showcasing the strength and innovation of German SMEs. He noted his pleasure in visiting the IFZA booth, a key sponsor of the event, and participating in a productive roundtable discussion with over 18 companies focused on enhancing economic collaboration between the UAE and Germany.
Germany has been an essential partner in the UAE’s economic landscape for over 50 years, with around 1,200 German companies established in the UAE and about 30,000 German citizens residing there. The event facilitated discussions among influential figures from Germany’s SME sector, international partners, and government representatives, encouraging dialogue and potential collaborations.
Christoph Ahlhaus, Chairman of the Federal Executive Board of BVMW, highlighted the significance of IFZA’s role as a main partner in this year’s event. He noted that their partnership showcases successful cooperation between both organizations and creates new growth opportunities for German SMEs.
IFZA’s participation at Zukunftstag 2025 further solidifies its position as a key gateway between Germany and the UAE. The BVMW’s office located at IFZA’s premises in Dubai serves as a vital link for connecting German businesses with the UAE market. IFZA’s international expansion continues with dedicated offices in Berlin and Frankfurt, providing localized support for German entrepreneurs, and plans to open additional offices in various countries including the UK, Pakistan, India, Africa, and Latin America in the coming year.
IFZA stands out as a dynamic Free Zone community in the UAE, leveraging the country’s strategic location and business-friendly environment. It offers personalized business establishment solutions in collaboration with government authorities and professional partners, along with various services like property solutions and training programs to support business owners and employees.
