Emirates Airline has significantly expanded its operations in Cambodia by launching a new flight route connecting Dubai to Siem Reap. This strategic development comes after the successful inaugural flight that landed at the newly opened Siem Reap Angkor International Airport on June 3, 2025. The new service is aimed at boosting bilateral relations and supporting the tourism industry in both Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The airline’s initiative highlights its commitment to establishing Cambodia as a key destination on the global travel map. This move reflects not only the growing interest in Southeast Asia but also a concerted effort to enhance trade, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation between Cambodia and the UAE.
With regular services to Siem Reap now available, Emirates is enabling international travelers to visit Cambodia’s most famous heritage site, Angkor Wat, while also contributing to the economic development of the region. Siem Reap, known for its ancient temples and vibrant culture, benefits from improved accessibility through Emirates’ extensive global network.
Currently, Emirates operates three weekly flights to Siem Reap on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, establishing a vital link between Cambodia and major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon, and Moscow. These new connections provide travelers with enhanced options and flexibility when planning their visits to Cambodia.
In addition to the new Siem Reap route, Emirates has also strengthened its services to Phnom Penh. Since May 1, 2024, the airline has been running daily flights between Dubai and Phnom Penh, routed via Singapore. This connection is designed to cater to both business travelers and tourists, further integrating Cambodia with major global markets.
The increased frequency of flights and expanded network are anticipated to significantly benefit Cambodia’s tourism and trade sectors. With enhanced air links to Dubai, one of the world’s busiest international hubs, Cambodia is expected to see a rise in visitor numbers, new business opportunities, and foreign investment.
The UAE, particularly Dubai, is quickly becoming a key trade and tourism partner for Cambodia. As more routes are established, the partnership between the two nations is set to grow stronger, leading to economic advantages and increased visibility for Cambodian destinations.
Emirates’ ongoing commitment to Cambodia is part of its broader vision of supporting emerging markets across Southeast Asia. By connecting less-served regions like Siem Reap with its extensive global network, the airline is creating new economic opportunities and promoting sustainable growth in regional tourism.
The airline has also expressed intentions to collaborate with Cambodian tourism stakeholders and government bodies to promote the new Siem Reap route. Through coordinated marketing efforts and cooperative strategies, the partnership aims to attract travelers from long-haul markets seeking culturally rich and lesser-explored destinations.
This collaboration is expected to yield long-term benefits, such as job creation, skills development, and improved infrastructure in key tourism areas.
As global travel rebounds and the demand for culturally immersive experiences grows, Cambodia is poised for a tourism resurgence. Emirates’ expansion to include both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap reflects a strong confidence in Cambodia’s potential as a competitive destination in the regional tourism and trade landscape. By enhancing air connectivity, Emirates is playing a crucial role in Cambodia’s journey towards new growth opportunities, international cooperation, and sustainable development.
