Dubai’s Economic Content Creators Programme Explores Global Trends and Storytelling

The second week of the Economic Content Creators Programme, organised by the Dubai Press Club with support from the Ministry of Economy, focused on enhancing the skills of digital storytellers in the economic field. Participants took part in various workshops and expert-led sessions aimed at simplifying complex data and crafting engaging narratives.

Accoriding to DPC, Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Manager of the Dubai Press Club, highlighted the programme’s mission to empower content creators with high-quality knowledge and professional tools. She stated, “The Dubai Press Club remains committed to enhancing the skills and competencies of content creators to boost their global competitiveness.”

The week featured a photography session led by Mohammed Boosh from Edraak Media, covering basics like lighting and visual storytelling techniques. Another session, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Lubna Fawaz and Senior Correspondent Nada Abdel Salam, delved into the history of economic journalism and tips for creating impactful, ethical reports.

Dr. Rania Aitani, Assistant Professor of Finance at Murdoch University Dubai, presented a lecture on global economic trends, discussing topics such as monetary policies, the 2008 financial crisis, and the role of technology in economic transformation.

Practical workshops were also part of the programme. Economic content creator Khalid Al Jabri shared strategies for increasing income through content creation, including working with advertisers and identifying profitable content types.

In a session on digital storytelling, speakers from Edraak Media Academy, including Ahmed Alsabouni and Raef Yousef, provided insights on simplifying economic data, research techniques, and creative writing to create relatable and impactful digital narratives.

Mahfoudha Abdullah, Specialist in Media Talent Development at Dubai Press Club, emphasized the importance of equipping creators with skills to turn complex economic information into accessible content. She expressed gratitude to the partners supporting the initiative, which aims to nurture professionals capable of driving excellence in the media sector.

The programme continues to provide participants with world-class tools to refine their storytelling abilities and enhance the quality of economic journalism.
