Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed the rollout of free Wi-Fi service at all 43 bus and marine transport stations throughout the city. This initiative provides passengers with seamless internet access while commuting. The announcement was made on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, as part of a collaboration with telecom provider e& (formerly known as Etisalat).

The RTA stated that this initiative reflects their ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation across all their services. This new Wi-Fi service builds upon previous steps taken to improve digital offerings, including the launch of the 360 Services Policy in March 2025, which aims to reduce the need for in-person visits by promoting self-service models. Digital platforms, such as the Dubai Now app, facilitate easier access to transport-related services remotely.
The newly established free Wi-Fi coverage encompasses 21 public bus stations and 22 marine transport stations, bringing the total number of connected locations to 43 across the emirate. The RTA has committed to continuously evaluating and enhancing this Wi-Fi service to ensure it provides high-quality and reliable connectivity across all public transport modes.
According to the RTA, the goal is to ensure “quality connectivity for passengers using buses and marine transport across the emirate.” The authority emphasized that this project aims to meet diverse commuter needs, making journeys more convenient and productive. By enabling passengers to stay connected while on the go, the RTA hopes to enhance the daily commuting experience and contribute to the city’s happiness and digital accessibility objectives.
