Dubai Metro and Tram Enhance Violation Monitoring with Live Screens

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new integrated system designed to improve passenger experiences on the Metro and Tram by digitizing and optimizing inspection operations. This initiative aims to address unauthorized use of the Gold Class cabin by Silver nol cardholders and the misuse of designated spaces for women.

The new system enhances the deployment of fare inspectors by identifying high-priority areas that require increased monitoring. It allows for real-time tracking of inspectors’ performance and ticket inspection activities, providing live updates and analytical reports on operational outcomes.

During major events, inspection teams will be strategically deployed at high-footfall stations based on multi-source data analysis. This process helps predict areas that are more prone to violations, enabling a faster and more effective response to potential issues. Additionally, the system records passenger data to identify repeat offenders and educate them on the importance of adhering to regulations.

Since its implementation, the new system has led to a 14 percent monthly increase in inspection rates and improved detection of violations, ultimately enhancing compliance with Dubai Metro and Tram regulations. The RTA has also established a specialized center focused on strengthening inspection oversight and violation monitoring, which ensures optimal resource utilization and real-time tracking of operational activities.

Equipped with live monitoring screens, the system allows for instant oversight of ticket inspectors, ensuring swift responses to violations that could impact passenger safety and comfort.
