Etihad Airways is preparing for a busy summer season at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, expecting to welcome more than seven million travelers during the holiday period. The airline has noted an increased demand for seasonal destinations such as Malaga, Antalya, Santorini, Nice, and Mykonos, prompting the activation of a comprehensive plan to enhance passenger journeys and ensure high-quality hospitality from check-in to landing.

Shaeb Alnuaimi, Etihad’s Director of Airport Operations, expressed enthusiasm about hosting millions of guests at the airport. He emphasized the airline’s commitment to high standards of safety, comfort, and service throughout the travel experience. Alnuaimi mentioned that passengers can expect a smooth journey thanks to the airline’s modern fleet and award-winning hospitality.

To facilitate a seamless travel experience, Etihad Airways has provided essential travel tips for passengers. Guests are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure during peak periods to avoid long queues. Online check-in is available 30 hours before departure through the airline’s website or mobile app, along with automated self-service bag drops for quick processing.

Additionally, off-airport check-in and bag-drop facilities are offered at various locations, including Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal and YAS Mall. For added convenience, the Home Check-in service allows passengers to check in from home, starting at AED185, which includes baggage check-in and delivery of boarding passes. Upon return, the Land and Leave service enables guests to go directly to their destination while their luggage is delivered to them within three hours.

Etihad’s baggage policy permits Economy Class travelers to carry 7 kg of hand luggage, while First and Business Class guests can bring up to 12 kg. The airline also highlights that travelers flying to the United States must complete check-in at least four hours prior to their flight and adhere to specific timelines for the US Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility.
