Fujairah in the UAE will host the first-ever international adventure tourism conference from April 30th to May 2nd, 2025. This groundbreaking event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, aims to drive innovation, partnerships, and sustainability within the adventure tourism sector.

The Fujairah Adventures Centre is organizing the conference in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The event is strategically designed to leverage the region’s natural beauty and robust infrastructure while enhancing Fujairah’s potential as a growing hub for adventure tourism.

The conference is part of Fujairah’s economic diversification strategy, which focuses on tourism growth. It aims to elevate the emirate’s international profile, attract strategic investments, and establish sustainable adventure tourism standards. The event will provide a platform for forging new partnerships and setting benchmarks for excellence in the industry.

Attendees can expect industry-focused sessions featuring keynote speeches and five panel discussions on topics including Investment & Growth in the Adventure Tourism Sector, Safety & Standards in Exploration & Recreation, Sustainability & Community Impact, and Innovation & Youth Leadership in Sports & Adventure Tourism. These discussions will highlight the contributions of startups, universities, influencers, and UN tourism affiliates in shaping the future of adventure tourism.

Key representatives from the UNWTO and other influential tourism leaders are anticipated to attend and speak at the event. The conference will also introduce the region’s first standardized adventure tourism framework and launch the Arabic version of the UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) safety guide, aimed at promoting best practices in adventure sports.

On the opening day, there will be a signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and the formal launch of the UIAA book. Over the subsequent days, participants will have the chance to explore Fujairah’s outdoor landscapes, including visits to Sheikh Zayed Mosque, tours of Fujairah Fort, cultural experiences at Al Taiba Village, hikes in Wadi Wurrayah Reserve, and deep-sea fishing complemented by local culinary experiences.
