The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Etihad Airways have launched the new Abu Dhabi Pass, designed to enhance the experience for visitors to the emirate. This initiative was announced during the ITB Berlin event and aims to provide a comprehensive access ticket for various attractions and sights in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Pass offers significant benefits for Etihad passengers and all visitors, including a 10GB tourist SIM card, unlimited access to public buses, and 24-hour unlimited access to the hop-on-hop-off tourist bus network that explores the city’s diverse attractions. According to the state news agency WAM, the new pass transforms the visitor experience into a fully digital journey, simplifying access to what the emirate has to offer.
To obtain the Abu Dhabi Pass, Etihad passengers will receive an email containing a link to access it via a dedicated website, with no extra cost or app download required. Abdulla Yousuf, the Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized that this partnership aims to promote Abu Dhabi as a top global destination, facilitating travel and tourism stakeholders in showcasing the emirate’s best offerings.
The collaboration builds on Etihad’s stopover program, which attracted 85 000 international visitors in 2024, a significant increase from 12 000 in 2023. The airline expects to host over 130 000 stopover guests in 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of more than 50 percent. Visitors who book their travel through etihad.com can also take advantage of a complimentary hotel stay of up to two nights when they choose to stopover in Abu Dhabi, effectively turning their journey into two holidays.
Aysha Al Kaabi, Vice President of Commercial Enablement and Engagement at Etihad Airways, noted that this collaboration makes experiencing the emirate’s attractions more appealing than ever. The combination of transport, connectivity, and attraction discounts in one digital pass simplifies the process for visitors looking to enjoy a range of experiences, from cultural discoveries to family entertainment.
Abu Dhabi Pass holders can also benefit from a 15 percent discount at premier cultural venues like Qasr Al Watan and Louvre Abu Dhabi, as well as special rates at entertainment destinations on Yas Island, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. The pass offers access to deals at over 200 restaurants across the emirate and savings on popular activities such as desert safaris and guided city tours.
This initiative supports the objectives of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to enhance the visitor experience through exceptional offerings and improved connectivity. The strategy seeks to attract 39.3 million visitors, create 178 000 new jobs in the tourism sector, and contribute Dh90 billion to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by 2030. Recent infrastructure developments, including the new Terminal A at Zayed International Airport and a growing calendar of cultural and entertainment events, further complement these goals.
