Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with Saudi Minister for Communications and Information Technology Engineer Abdullah Al-Swaha to discuss enhancing collaboration in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure. The meeting aimed to establish stronger ties in these critical areas.

During their discussions, the ministers talked about creating the Pakistan Digital Corridor to China and Central Asia, which is expected to bolster global connectivity. They emphasized the importance of cooperation in AI and computing technologies and expressed their commitment to forming strategic partnerships.
Shaza Fatima also highlighted a significant project worth Rs4.8 billion that has been approved under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). This initiative aims to train over 7 000 Pakistani youth in semiconductor technologies. She expressed her confidence in Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the tech sector while reiterating Pakistan’s support for the kingdom’s National Semiconductor Hub.
Furthermore, the talks included collaboration opportunities under Saudi Arabia’s National Technology Development Programme, focusing on fostering partnerships between Pakistani and Saudi companies. Shaza Fatima pointed out Pakistan’s achievements in cybersecurity and acknowledged the vital role of its armed forces in recent geopolitical developments. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s growth and success in the technology domain.
