G42, the Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence and advanced technology group, has officially launched G42 Europe & U.K., a new subsidiary located in London. This new entity aims to offer tailored AI solutions to the private sector in Europe and the U.K. while collaborating with governments and industries to enhance critical AI infrastructure across these regions.

The operations of G42 Europe & U.K. will be co-chaired by Omar Mir and Marty Edelman. Omar Mir, an international board member at World Wide Technology, brings over 20 years of experience in the global tech industry. He has led significant initiatives in the U.K., Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, focusing on advancements in 5G, edge computing, cloud, and AI services.
Marty Edelman, who serves as the group general counsel of G42, is responsible for managing the legal and compliance strategy across the group’s diverse operations worldwide. He has played a crucial role in developing G42’s governance framework as the company expands into new markets.
Omar Mir expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am honored to co-chair G42 Europe & U.K. at this pivotal moment. Our goal is to harness G42’s proven AI expertise and localize it for European and U.K. businesses – fueling digital transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and building resilient, sovereign AI infrastructure in partnership with public and private stakeholders.”
Marty Edelman also highlighted the significance of this expansion, noting that the U.K. and Europe represent a dynamic market filled with immense opportunities for AI-driven innovation. By establishing a dedicated hub in London, G42 aims to enhance its ability to serve clients with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and top-notch technology solutions.
This new subsidiary responds to the growing momentum G42 has achieved in Europe, as evidenced by recent announcements regarding data centers and compute clusters in France and Italy. There is also an increasing interest from several other countries in the region.
G42 Europe & U.K. will utilize G42’s extensive network of supercomputing nodes and data centers to deliver scalable and secure end-to-end AI services. These services will encompass strategic advisory, model development, infrastructure deployment, and managed services, targeting sectors such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy.
Furthermore, the new entity will work alongside national and regional bodies to advance data-sovereignty initiatives and support the rollout of next-generation AI infrastructure.
