Saudi Arabia has successfully attracted 25 international startups that specialize in research, development, and innovation (RDI). This initiative is part of the Global Startup Attraction Program, which is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Investment and the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority.

The selected companies come from strategic sectors that include future health, energy and industry, education and human capital, and environmental sustainability. Among these firms, 13 focus on future health, six are dedicated to sustainability and basic needs, while three each concentrate on education and energy.
The program aims to boost private sector involvement in RDI, foster talent development, and create high-skilled job opportunities. By the year 2030, the initiative targets the generation of over SR25 billion in total market value and the creation of more than 7 000 jobs. Furthermore, three of the participating companies are expected to achieve unicorn status.
These startups represent a diverse mix from 12 different countries, including the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, and the UAE. Notable firms taking part in this initiative include Stargate Hydrogen, SecureOneLabs, Aitonomi, NovaLunas, and Deepdrill AG, among others.
This initiative aligns with broader national efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s innovation capacity, strengthen private sector research and development, and contribute to economic diversification, as stated by the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority.
