Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced plans to open a state-of-the-art global Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi. This center will concentrate on developing advanced technologies and driving technical innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). The Qualcomm® Engineering Center will become a vital part of the Qualcomm® Global Engineering hubs, focusing on next-generation technology in industrial IoT, AI, and data center solutions to meet the increasing local and global demand for high-performance connectivity, energy-efficient computing, and intelligence.

The new center will work alongside local companies in Abu Dhabi and global partners to support regional strategic initiatives. It aims to enhance Qualcomm’s global engineering capabilities to deliver products and services tailored to the requirements of crucial industries such as energy, manufacturing, logistics, retail, and smart mobility—sectors that are pivotal for economic growth.

As reported by TechAfrica News, Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, expressed enthusiasm about the new project, stating, “We are thrilled to announce our plans to establish a Qualcomm Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi as part of our efforts to advance technology innovation in the region.” He emphasized that the engineering hub will focus on creating top-tier AI and industrial IoT solutions while also nurturing local talent and promoting job creation. Amon looks forward to collaborating with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and the UAE to expand the technology ecosystem.

His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), highlighted the region’s commitment to developing future-oriented industries. He noted that the Qualcomm Engineering Center is set to provide technological advancements in IoT, AI, and data infrastructure with applications across critical sectors. Al-Olama remarked on Abu Dhabi’s attractiveness to global investors and pioneering companies, asserting that it is an investment destination that anticipates future needs and builds accordingly.
