Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and e& have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing technological development and commercialization of connectivity, 5G, and edge AI technologies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This initiative is designed to accelerate the digital transformation across government, enterprise, and industrial sectors.

The collaboration will focus on several key areas to benefit the UAE’s economy. Qualcomm and e& plan to work on industrial and enterprise 5G edge AI gateways, which will allow core vertical sectors to implement AI capabilities at the network edge. This enhancement is expected to improve efficiency, connectivity, and performance.
Additionally, the partners will develop Edge AI devices, including PCs and XR devices powered by Snapdragon® platforms. These devices will incorporate large language models (LLMs), enabling on-device generative AI capabilities and security-focused AI inferencing from edge to cloud for both enterprise and government sectors. The collaboration will also address smart mobility and safety solutions to enhance road-user experiences and future-proof transportation infrastructure in the UAE.
Qualcomm Technologies intends to leverage its newly established Qualcomm Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi to support the collaboration with e&. This will include evaluating new use cases to accelerate the adoption of 5G and edge AI in sectors such as energy, manufacturing, logistics, retail, and smart mobility.
Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, highlighted that the cooperation between Qualcomm Technologies and e& will significantly enhance collaboration in transformative technology areas, including 5G and next-generation computing at the edge. He expressed eagerness to accelerate innovation and technology advancement across the enterprise and government ecosystem in the UAE and beyond.

He noted that together, they are bringing powerful AI to the edge, which will enable faster, more reliable, and secure experiences across various sectors, including manufacturing, transport, and government. These advancements are expected to drive real-time intelligence, operational efficiency, and future-ready public services throughout the UAE.
