Abu Dhabi Launches Coral Gardens Initiative, Largest Project of Its Kind in the Middle East

Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), the Abu Dhabi Coral Gardens initiative has been officially launched. This ambitious project is recognized as the largest of its kind in the Middle East, aiming to enhance marine biodiversity in the region.

The initiative is designed to cultivate coral reefs, which are crucial for sustaining marine life and maintaining ecological balance in coastal environments. As part of this effort, the EAD will employ advanced techniques in coral farming and restoration. This project is expected to significantly contribute to the health of local marine ecosystems.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of the initiative in promoting environmental sustainability and protecting marine resources. He stated that the project aligns with Abu Dhabi’s commitment to preserving its natural heritage for future generations.
