Senior officials, international delegates, and global industry leaders gathered at the summit to discuss advancements in electric mobility. The event is organized by Nirvana MICE, with Abu Dhabi Mobility as the Mobility Partner and UAEV as the Innovation Partner, reflecting the UAE’s ongoing commitment to sustainable and smart transport solutions.

Engineer Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized the significance of EVIS 2025, stating that it is the largest electric vehicle event in the MENA region. He noted the growing popularity of the summit, evident in the increasing number of participating companies eager to showcase innovations and connect with decision-makers in sustainable mobility.

Delivering the opening remarks, Al Olama highlighted the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, driven by the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the UAE Energy Strategy 2050. He remarked that the transport sector plays a crucial role in transforming energy consumption. To facilitate the transition to electric vehicles (EVs), the government is expanding the network of charging stations to alleviate range anxiety for EV owners.

Al Olama also introduced UAEV, a joint venture between the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Etihad Water and Electricity aimed at deploying a nationwide charging network. This initiative is poised to support the UAE’s EV ambitions. In collaboration with Bee’ah, the UAE is also establishing the region’s first electric and hybrid battery recycling facility, promoting circular economy practices.

The Undersecretary announced that the UAE ranked first in the Middle East in 2024 for the highest share of electric and hybrid vehicle sales, which reached nearly 26 percent of total car sales. He projected a reduction of over 400 kilotons of carbon emissions from the transport sector alone by 2050.

Al Olama stressed that achieving green mobility targets demands strong public-private cooperation, further investments in infrastructure, and innovative technologies. Among the highlights of the event, Xpeng UAE is presenting its groundbreaking air taxi, showcasing a vision for the future of autonomous, vertical electric transport.

EVIS Abu Dhabi 2025 features several immersive experiences, including an EV Outdoor Test Drive Zone, an E-Circuit Zone for live demonstrations, and a Charging Oasis for next-generation charging technologies. The Market Gateway is designed to foster connections between industry leaders and professionals in the field.

Additionally, a world-class conference program will feature speakers discussing mobility, energy, and sustainability. Eng. Naser Ali Al Bahri, CEO of Nirvana MICE, described EVIS Abu Dhabi as a powerful platform driving collaboration and transformation across various sectors.

The summit is also showcasing Autogo’s RoboTaxi, an autonomous mobility solution presented for the first time at a major public event. This initiative is part of ongoing trials at Emirates Driving Company, demonstrating Abu Dhabi’s ambition to lead in intelligent mobility solutions.
