DMCC, the leading international business district in Dubai, is actively seeking to strengthen trade ties between the UAE and the UK, particularly in technology sectors such as AI, Web3, and gaming. This initiative was highlighted during a recent roadshow in London, where business leaders were briefed on the numerous opportunities available for British tech companies looking to expand globally through Dubai.

The event brought together British business leaders, government officials, and investors to discuss the growing potential for bilateral trade and collaboration. DMCC emphasized its role as a pivotal business hub, showcasing Dubai as the MENA region’s premier destination for innovation in AI, Web3, and gaming. Currently, DMCC is home to over 2,130 British companies, which represent more than 42% of all British businesses operating in the UAE.
According to Zawya, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, noted that the UAE and the UK have a longstanding trade relationship, with bilateral trade in goods and services exceeding £25 billion in the previous year. He remarked that this partnership is rapidly evolving and now encompasses advanced sectors such as fintech and climate technology. Bin Sulayem stated, “This marks the beginning of a new era of high-growth opportunities, as we harness the strengths of both Dubai and London as global innovation hubs.”
DMCC’s recent trip to London is part of its global outreach program, which aims to explore markets that present untapped potential for deeper collaboration. With a membership of over 25 000 companies from more than 180 countries, DMCC contributes significantly to Dubai’s annual foreign direct investment (FDI), accounting for 15%. The organization continues to position itself as an essential business hub for international growth and innovation across various sectors.
