Free Wi-Fi Rolls Out at 29 Public Transport Locations in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has successfully completed the rollout of free wi-fi services at 29 public transport locations across the emirate. This initiative includes 17 public bus stations and 12 marine transport stations, making it easier for commuters to stay connected while traveling.

The free wi-fi is accessible on various devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops, allowing passengers to keep in touch with friends and track their journeys on the go. The RTA has partnered with e& (formerly Etisalat) to enhance the commuter experience with this new connectivity option.

Plans are underway to expand the wi-fi service to all 43 RTA bus and marine transport stations. Users of the Dubai Metro may already be familiar with the du wi-fi service available throughout the Red and Green Lines. Every public transport station is expected to offer free wi-fi by mid-summer.

Khaled AbdulRahman Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, stated that this new service aims to improve the commuting experience for residents and visitors in Dubai. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the RTA’s efforts to accelerate digital transformation across its services, catering to various segments of society in accordance with the UAE’s vision.
