UAE-based Autogo, a company specializing in autonomous mobility solutions, has officially launched trials for its RoboTaxi service in Abu Dhabi. The full operations of this service are expected to commence by 2026.

This initiative is part of a strategic partnership with Apollo, a company owned by Baidu that is a leading provider of large-scale autonomous transportation services. The goal is to introduce cutting-edge mobility technologies to the roads of Abu Dhabi.
The trials are being conducted in collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi. This coordination aims to ensure that the RoboTaxi service aligns with local transport strategies, regulations, and infrastructure requirements, reinforcing the emirate’s commitment to promoting smart mobility.
Robo-taxi vehicles are designed to provide a smart and seamless transportation experience, catering to the needs of modern urban residents. Autogo envisions that its service will not only enhance transportation efficiency but also improve traffic safety by minimizing human error in driving.
The fully electric Robo Taxi, known as the sixth-generation RT6, is developed specifically for autonomous transportation services. It boasts a design that prioritizes safety, intelligence, and comfort. Apollo Go, the first company in China to provide fully autonomous transportation services, has integrated AI, big data, and automation technologies to help shape the future of smart cities.
Sean Teo, General Manager of Kintsugi Holdings, noted that the launch of Robo Taxi trials in Abu Dhabi marks the beginning of a significant transformation in urban mobility. He emphasized that the Robo Taxi service aims to fulfill two key objectives: enhancing traffic safety and promoting sustainable transportation.
Teo further mentioned that AutoGo and Apollo Go will work together to test the RoboTaxi’s performance in real-world environments, engage with the community, and prepare for a broader rollout of this technology in Abu Dhabi by 2026.
Apollo Go, also known as Luopu Kuaibao, is recognized as one of the world’s leading autonomous transportation platforms. As of March, the Apollo Go fleets have successfully logged over 150 million autonomous kilometers and have received more than 10 million ride requests, all while maintaining an impressive safety record.
