Younus Al Nasser, CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, emphasized the importance of data in decision-making, stating that it is a primary driver of development in today’s digital transformation era. He noted the challenge of balancing data-driven innovation with governance that respects social, cultural, and legal considerations, particularly privacy. Al Nasser highlighted that synthetic data serves as a practical solution that maximizes data value, aligning with the strategy to digitize life and position Dubai as a leader in digital transformation.

In discussing the significance of this collaboration, Nusaiba Al Marzooqi, Manager of Prices and Cost of Living Statistics at the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, explained that synthetic data represents a major advancement in statistics. It allows for the creation of realistic datasets while protecting privacy, thereby enhancing the accuracy and reliability of analytical models. This innovation aids in training AI algorithms securely, reflecting market patterns and improving predictive accuracy.

The project has yielded a comprehensive analytical report that details the findings from the experimental study. This report illustrates how generative models of synthetic data can effectively represent labor market data, such as unemployment rates among various population groups, without diminishing the accuracy of statistical indicators. It also outlines challenges faced during the study, the innovative solutions employed, and offers recommendations for utilizing synthetic data to further develop official statistics.
