Emirates Group Partners with Moro Hub for Sustainable Data Center Transition

The Emirates Group has announced a partnership with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, to utilize co-location services at the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, home to the world’s largest solar-powered data center. This collaboration is part of a strategic initiative to enhance digital transformation and bolster Dubai’s reputation in sustainable aviation.

Michael Doersam, the Emirates Group’s chief financial and group services officer, along with Marwan Bin Haidar, vice chairman and group CEO of Digital DEWA, signed the agreement in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. The Emirates Group aims to begin relocating its data center to Moro Hub by mid-2026, marking a significant transition in its technology infrastructure.

As part of this move, the Emirates Group plans to switch to clean energy, achieving a consumption of 3,000 megawatts annually, which is essential for powering the data center. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized that this alliance reflects Dubai’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth and innovation in technology, ensuring the emirate’s leadership on a global scale.

Michael Doersam further noted the importance of this partnership, stating it is a pivotal step in preparing the Emirates Group for future growth and expansion. He highlighted the shared vision of both organizations to establish Dubai as a leader in technology, innovation, and sustainability. By transitioning their digital operations to Moro Hub, the Emirates Group aims to enhance resilience, scalability, and significantly reduce its environmental impact, reinforcing their commitment to a greener, tech-driven future.
