EVIQ, a prominent player in Saudi Arabia’s electric vehicle infrastructure sector, has officially opened its first highway electric vehicle (EV) charging station at SASCO Aljazeera, located along the crucial Riyadh-Qassim highway. This launch represents a significant advancement in the regional effort to promote sustainable transportation in the Kingdom.

The newly inaugurated charging station aims to address the challenges faced by EV users during long-distance travel. It is anticipated that this initiative will greatly enhance the adoption of electric vehicles throughout Saudi Arabia, supporting the nation’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
EVIQ’s initiative marks the beginning of an ambitious plan to establish a comprehensive highway charging network across Saudi Arabia. The company is dedicated to providing advanced charging solutions, with a goal of installing over 5,000 fast chargers by 2030. This initiative is designed to align with the Kingdom’s sustainability vision by offering reliable, accessible, and high-performing charging options for EV drivers.
Mohammed Bakr Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “The inauguration of our first highway EV charging hub at SASCO Aljazeera on RYD-QSM highway represents a pivotal moment in the development of a robust and interconnected charging network across Saudi Arabia.” He noted that this initiative will play a crucial role in supporting the Kingdom’s transition toward sustainable transportation by ensuring that EV drivers have access to efficient charging infrastructure along key highways.
Gazzaz also highlighted EVIQ’s commitment to fostering a greener future in line with national sustainability goals. He mentioned plans for further expansion, including two additional highway routes: Riyadh-Dammam and Mecca-Madinah, alongside ongoing developments on the Riyadh-Qassim route.
The collaboration with SASCO marks a significant enhancement of Saudi Arabia’s roadside infrastructure. By integrating EVIQ’s charging solutions into their extensive network of service stations, SASCO is contributing to modernizing travel experiences and promoting eco-friendly transportation alternatives.
