ADGM and Chainlink Collaborate to Establish Global Blockchain Standards

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the primary International Financial Centre (IFC) in the capital of the UAE, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chainlink, a leader in on-chain finance. This partnership is a significant advancement in developing compliant frameworks for tokenization. The collaboration aims to support innovative projects under ADGM’s Registration Authority by utilizing Chainlink’s technical expertise and industry insights to enhance the utility and regulatory compliance of tokenized assets.

Chainlink offers market-leading services that include blockchain interoperability and verifiable data solutions, which facilitate liquidity across global markets. This capability has enabled over $19 trillion in transaction value, making Chainlink a trusted partner for major financial institutions. The partnership is aligned with ADGM’s vision to foster innovation, improve connectivity, and set a global standard for regulating the blockchain ecosystem.

Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, CEO of ADGM Registration Authority, emphasized that this strategic alliance is essential for reinforcing ADGM’s leadership in blockchain innovation and promoting a unified regulatory approach globally. He stated that through collaboration with Chainlink, they aim to establish a benchmark that enhances transparency, security, and trust in the blockchain sector.

Under this MoU, ADGM and Chainlink will engage in discussions regarding regulatory matters related to blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. The agreement also includes plans for a series of events and workshops designed to educate the UAE ecosystem on critical topics like tokenization, cross-chain interoperability, proof of reserves, and emerging blockchain standards.

Angie Walker, global head of Banking and Capital Markets at Chainlink Labs, remarked that ADGM has created a conducive environment for tokenization projects to flourish. She expressed excitement about the potential for ADGM Registration Authority projects to adopt Chainlink standards, which would facilitate compliance, improve connectivity, and enhance the security of on-chain services.

This partnership further cements ADGM’s position as a global hub for technology-driven innovation. Building on the world’s first Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Foundations Regulations, ADGM has introduced new principles for blockchain adoption, allowing decentralized projects to grow within a regulated, interoperable, and secure environment.
