AIQ, a subsidiary of Presight, has announced a significant $340 million contract with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to implement its ENERGYai solutions across ADNOC’s upstream operations. This landmark agreement follows the successful completion of a proof-of-concept phase and aims to enhance optimization and efficiency within ADNOC’s upstream value chain over the next three years.

The ENERGYai solution, which utilizes advanced large language model technology combined with specialized agentic AI, is designed to streamline critical functions such as seismic analysis, geological modeling, and real-time process monitoring. By leveraging 70 years of proprietary data, ENERGYai can significantly reduce the time required for essential business processes from months to just days, while also minimizing costs and emissions.
Musabbeh Al Kaabi, ADNOC’s Upstream CEO, stated that ADNOC is committed to becoming the world’s most AI-enabled energy company, aiming to maximize the potential of AI to enhance efficiency and value across its operations. He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with AIQ to scale ENERGYai, reinforcing ADNOC’s role as a responsible supplier of energy to global markets.
Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director of AIQ, highlighted that this contract signifies a pivotal moment for the company. He noted that the partnership with ADNOC has led to the development of an innovative agentic AI solution capable of transforming the energy industry and advancing sustainability goals. Kenesbai emphasized AIQ’s dedication to delivering impactful AI solutions that address current challenges and shape the future of energy.
The technology behind ENERGYai will integrate various advanced systems, including Azure cloud technology and OpenAI models, in collaboration with experts from ADNOC, G42, and Microsoft. Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, praised AIQ for signing this historic agreement, reinforcing their commitment to innovation in the energy sector through this partnership.
The first operational version of ENERGYai is expected to be completed by mid-2025, featuring five fully functional AI agents for subsurface operations. Plans include testing the deployment across multiple upstream assets, with a goal to expand its application to thousands of additional wells. Over the contract’s duration, AIQ is set to implement ENERGYai across more than 28 of ADNOC’s producing fields, which include some of the largest and least carbon-intensive oil fields in the world.
AIQ stands as a technology pioneer in Abu Dhabi, focused on enhancing AI capabilities within the energy sector and contributing to the UAE’s ambition to lead the world in AI by 2031.
