RTA and Keolis MHI Launch Integrated System for Dubai Metro Passengers

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with Keolis MHI, the company responsible for the operation and maintenance of Dubai Metro and the operation of Dubai Tram, to create an integrated digital system aimed at enhancing the passenger experience. This new platform is designed to oversee inspection operations at metro and tram stations, aligning with the RTA’s strategy to improve public transport services through advanced technological solutions.

The integrated system significantly boosts the operational efficiency of both Dubai Metro and Tram. It automates inspection procedures and modernizes monitoring operations, which is a key focus of the RTA’s ongoing efforts. The system also digitizes inspection processes and monitors passenger violations, such as the unauthorized use of the Gold Class cabin by Silver nol cardholders and the misuse of spaces designated for women.

Furthermore, the platform optimizes fare inspector deployment by identifying areas that need increased monitoring to effectively detect and address violations. It allows for real-time monitoring of inspectors’ performance and ticket inspection activities, providing the capability to issue live updates and generate analytical reports on operational outcomes. During major events, teams are strategically deployed at high-footfall stations based on multi-source data analysis to predict and respond to potential violations more effectively.

Additionally, the system records passenger data to track repeat offenders and educate them on compliance with regulations. This initiative has led to a 14% monthly increase in inspection rates and improved detection of violations, ultimately promoting greater adherence to Dubai Metro and Tram regulations. According to the RTA, this innovative technology also contributes to urban sustainability by reducing resource consumption and fostering environmentally friendly practices in public transport.

The system is supported by a specialized center that strengthens oversight and monitoring of violations at Dubai Metro and Tram. This center ensures optimal resource utilization and real-time tracking of operational activities. Equipped with live monitoring screens, it enables instant oversight of ticket inspectors, facilitating quick responses to any violations that may impact passenger safety and comfort.
