Dubai-based Al-Futtaim Industrial Equipment has formed a partnership with the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD to launch electric trucks and buses in the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration aims to introduce four electric commercial vehicles tailored for logistics, freight, and public transportation.

The showcased vehicles include the ETM6 Electric Truck, EV Light Truck T5, EV Medium Truck ETH8, and the B12 Electric Bus. These vehicles are designed to produce zero tailpipe emissions, with battery capacities ranging from 126 kWh to 425 kWh. Their introduction aligns with efforts to provide sustainable solutions for urban logistics and heavy-duty transportation.

The B12 Electric Bus boasts an impressive range of 550 kilometers on a single charge. Al-Futtaim highlighted that this launch supports the UAE’s sustainability goals and the nation’s vision for green mobility. The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions in the commercial transport sector within the region.
