Dubai Expands EV Charging Infrastructure in Partnership with DEWA

Dubai is enhancing its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure through an updated partnership between Parkin Company and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). Parkin Company, recognized as the largest provider of paid public parking facilities in the emirate, announced that new EV charging stations will be installed as part of this sustainability initiative in the first quarter of 2025.

The newly planned charging stations will operate on alternating current (AC) and each will have a capacity of 22 kilowatts. They will be strategically placed at prime parking locations managed by Parkin, with each station capable of serving two parking spaces. The locations for these charging stations will focus on specific on-street parking areas in Zones A and C, targeting high-density residential communities that currently have limited access to EV charging facilities.

Customers will benefit from a seamless experience, as they will be able to pay for both parking and charging fees in a single transaction via Parkin’s app and digital wallet. Currently, DEWA operates around 740 EV charging points across Dubai.
