du, a leading telecom and digital services provider in the UAE, has announced a partnership with PEACE Cable International Network Co. Limited to bring the PEACE Cable System to the UAE. This collaboration aims to improve digital transformation and connectivity for du’s Wholesale and Enterprise customers through the advanced infrastructure of the PEACE Cable.

The agreement includes the landing of the PEACE Cable in the UAE, which is an ‘open-access’ submarine cable system designed to offer ultra-high-speed, secure, and resilient connections. This development is expected to enhance du’s network performance and managed services across the region. Additionally, the construction of a new branch, known as the PEACE Gulf Extension, will connect the cable to the UAE, extending its reach across a network that spans over 22,000 kilometers across three continents.
Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du, emphasized that this investment aligns with du’s commitment to boosting the UAE’s global connectivity status. He highlighted that the collaboration will facilitate economic and digital advancements, providing customers with exceptional reliability and value. Benkirane expressed pride in contributing to the UAE’s ambition to become a regional digital and AI hub, underscoring du’s exclusive ownership of the cable landing in the country.
Sun Xiaohua, CEO of PEACE, noted the project’s essence is to create unprecedented connectivity across continents. He stated that the initiative is about building bridges that connect cultures, economies, and communities, reinforcing the importance of digital infrastructure in today’s world.
The PEACE Cable is projected to be ready for service by the second half of 2026, marking a significant advancement in regional digital infrastructure. This partnership not only highlights du’s dedication to enhancing the UAE’s role as a vital gateway for global connectivity but also aims to provide enhanced economic, social, and digital transformation opportunities in line with the UAE’s strategic vision for the future.
