During the first Executive Committee Meeting held on February 10, 2025, members approved a visionary mission statement aimed at promoting safety, inclusivity, and sustainability in AI-powered virtual worlds. Al Mansoori expressed satisfaction with this milestone, calling on governments and technology leaders to collaborate on shaping future digital ecosystems.

Sameer Chauhan, Director of UNICC, noted the significant potential of AI and virtual worlds in addressing complex global challenges. He encouraged wide participation in the UN Citiverse Challenge to foster innovative solutions across various sectors.

The challenge aims to position AI and virtual worlds as a frontier for digital transformation, integrating various technologies to enhance governance and economic development. The upcoming second edition of UN Virtual Worlds Day is scheduled for June 11-12, 2025, in Turin, Italy, where the award ceremony for the Citiverse Challenge will take place, showcasing the practical applications of AI in various fields such as healthcare and sustainable development.
