The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Exports Development Center (SEDC), participated in the fourth edition of the “Make it in the Emirates” Forum held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from May 19 to 22. This engagement highlights the Chamber’s commitment to empowering the industrial sector and enhancing the global competitiveness of local industries.

During the forum, the Chamber unveiled a dedicated platform featuring representatives from industrial companies in Sharjah. This initiative is designed to showcase investment opportunities within the emirate’s rapidly growing industrial sector, which currently accounts for approximately 35 percent of the UAE’s manufacturing facilities. The platform aims to keep Sharjah’s entrepreneurs and investors informed about global developments in the industrial sector and the needs of various markets, facilitating access to new export destinations.
According to ZAWYA, the delegation from the Sharjah Chamber included prominent figures such as H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; H.E Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI; and H.E Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI. They engaged in strategic meetings with officials and senior representatives from government entities and major industrial firms. These discussions focused on enhancing investment in advanced industries, bolstering industrial resilience, and empowering Emirati talent by exposing them to key opportunities in the industrial and advanced technology sectors.
In these meetings, the delegation presented Sharjah’s industrial advantages, which include modern infrastructure, ongoing development projects, a strategic geographic location, a business-friendly regulatory framework, and competitive incentives. These factors have positioned the emirate as a leading manufacturing hub in the region.
H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais emphasized that the Sharjah Chamber’s participation in the “Make it in the Emirates” Forum reflects its dedication to supporting the industrial sector and reinforcing the emirate’s status as a global manufacturing destination and industrial supply gateway. He noted the Chamber’s efforts to enhance the global outreach of local industrial firms by providing targeted services, facilitating investment opportunities, and fostering partnerships through various business forums and trade missions.
Ali Al Jari remarked that the Sharjah Chamber’s involvement in this significant event is aimed at showcasing investment prospects in the emirate’s industrial and innovation-driven sectors. He highlighted Sharjah’s advancements in smart manufacturing, automation systems, and supply chain management as critical areas in line with evolving global industrial trends.
