UAE-based food packaging company Hotpack has announced its decision to establish its first manufacturing and distribution hub in North America, located in New Jersey. This move is aimed at improving service delivery to Hotpack’s customers in the United States and underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility in the global packaging industry.

Last week, Hotpack, together with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, unveiled a $100 million investment to set up a 70,000 square foot facility in Edison. The plant is expected to begin operations in June this year and will focus on producing customized plastic and paper cups, containers, and clamshells. As operations grow, the company plans to expand its workforce.
Hotpack’s CEO and Managing Director, Abdul Jebbar, expressed pride in establishing a manufacturing presence in New Jersey, describing the expansion as a significant milestone for the company. He noted that this investment reflects their commitment to better serve clients in the U.S. market while contributing to the local economy through job creation and enhanced manufacturing capabilities. The initial phase of the project is projected to create up to 200 new jobs within five years.
Governor Murphy voiced strong support for Hotpack’s decision during an economic mission to the Gulf Arab States. He emphasized that Hotpack’s expansion in New Jersey is a strong endorsement of the state’s strategic location, skilled workforce, and robust infrastructure. Murphy remarked, “With this announcement, New Jersey continues to prove itself as a top destination for global companies looking to grow and innovate in the United States.”
Hotpack’s expansion aligns with its 2030 Vision for global growth. Abdul Jebbar added that this move is part of a broader strategy to increase their international presence, which includes previous investments in biodegradable packaging facilities in Malaysia, expanded manufacturing in Saudi Arabia, and a dedicated paper products facility in India that has been operational since 2023.
Additionally, Hotpack has recently achieved ISO recertification across 20 facilities, which validates its quality management systems, environmental practices, and occupational health and safety standards.
