Lalamove, an on-demand delivery platform established in Hong Kong in 2013, has officially launched its services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The announcement was made on May 19, 2025, marking the company’s entry into its 14th global market, with operations in Dubai and delivery options extending to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

The platform connects users with drivers and vehicles for instant delivery, specifically aiming to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These SMEs are significant contributors to the UAE’s economy, accounting for 40% of the country’s GDP. Lalamove strives to provide logistics solutions that enhance the efficiency of deliveries for these businesses.
Key features of Lalamove’s service include multi-stop routes, real-time tracking, and a range of vehicle options from cars to 3-ton trucks. The expansion aligns with the booming e-commerce sector in the UAE, which is experiencing substantial growth, with the logistics market valued at approximately $54.5 billion in 2024 and expected to reach $95.2 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 5.7%. This growth is driven notably by e-commerce, which is expanding at an annual rate of 23%, heightening the demand for effective delivery solutions.
Lalamove’s instant matching technology is designed to meet the increasing consumer expectations for delivery speed and flexibility, particularly in light of the rising online shopping trends. The timing of this expansion also coincides with the UAE government’s ongoing investments in logistics infrastructure, fostering an environment conducive to logistics innovation and growth.
This expansion is part of a larger global trend towards technology-driven logistics solutions, which aim to connect previously fragmented markets.
