Dubai South has officially inaugurated a new facility dedicated to Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NYSE: EXPD), a prominent global logistics company. This state-of-the-art facility, located in the Logistics District of Dubai South, is part of the largest single-urban master development focused on aviation, logistics, and real estate.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior leaders from both Dubai South and Expeditors. Key figures included Mohsen Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of the Logistics District at Dubai South, and Wael Hanna, District Manager for Expeditors in Dubai, along with K Murali and Mathew Joseph, who hold senior positions in the Middle East region.

Covering approximately 23 200 square meters, the new facility will offer a range of warehousing and fulfillment services. These services include container freight station operations, inventory management, kitting, labeling, order management, compliance inspections, return programs, transportation management, pick-and-pack services, and quality control inspections.

Mohsen Ahmad expressed his enthusiasm at the opening, stating that they are pleased to launch Expeditors’ new facility, which aims to provide innovative logistics solutions to meet the rising demand for advanced supply chain services in the region. He emphasized that Dubai South’s mission aligns with the government’s vision to establish Dubai as a leading logistics hub.

Wael Hanna reflected on Expeditors’ long-standing presence in Dubai, noting that they first opened in the city over 25 years ago. He highlighted the significance of this new facility as a representation of their commitment to meeting customer demands while improving operational efficiency.

Expeditors, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, operates through 176 district offices and numerous branches across six continents. Their extensive services include air and ocean freight consolidation, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, and a variety of customized logistics solutions.

Dubai South’s Logistics District exemplifies logistical innovation within a top-tier infrastructure network. It provides seamless access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor and features multiple zones with direct access to cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, as well as a fully dedicated e-commerce free zone known as EZDubai.
