The General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed a $25 million contract with Indian firm Willow Ferro to establish a metal industries project in the Technology Valley, located east of Ismailia in Sinai. This project aims to enhance the local industrial landscape and is set to begin operations with the production of ferrosilicon and ferrochrome.

The factory will cover an area of 40 000 square meters and is expected to produce 36 000 tons of silicon manganese annually. Additionally, the project is projected to create 120 direct jobs for the local workforce.
This contract marks the third finalized agreement for a project within the Technology Valley, bringing total investments in the area to $42 million across 135 000 square meters, which will generate 770 direct jobs overall. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, the Chairman of SCZone, highlighted the authority’s commitment to attracting global investments to East Ismailia, leveraging its strategic location near the new city of Ismailia and access to three ports in Sinai: East Port Said, Arish, and El-Tor.
