Sharjah Showcases Investment Opportunities at InnoEX 2025

Under the “Innovate in Sharjah” initiative, the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) participated in InnoEX 2025 in Hong Kong. Their involvement aimed to explore investment opportunities in technology, innovation, and advanced industries. This event highlighted Sharjah’s advanced infrastructure and business-friendly environment, promoting the emirate’s competitive edge in these key sectors.

InnoEX 2025 coincided with the Business of Innovation & Technology Week, providing an ideal platform to showcase the new digital initiative, Innovate in Sharjah. This smart gateway connects global innovators to Sharjah’s infrastructure, laboratories, and research facilities. The joint participation aimed to promote this platform to global stakeholders, solidifying Sharjah’s reputation as a regional hub for innovation and industrial development while attracting high-value investments in knowledge-based sectors.

The delegation was led by H.E. Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, along with Marwan Saleh Alichla, Director of Investment Promotion and Support at Invest in Sharjah, and Juma Abdulla Alhaj, Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing at SRTIP. They emphasized the emirate’s innovation ecosystem and highlighted emerging opportunities for strategic partnerships with global and Asian technology stakeholders.

InnoEX 2025 served as a global platform for business leaders, technology firms, and foreign direct investment agencies, focusing on strengthening cross-border economic partnerships. The event showcased advancements in generative AI, smart infrastructure, and tailored digital solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises.

H.E. Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh remarked on the strengthening economic ties between Sharjah and Hong Kong, noting that the bilateral trade between the UAE and Hong Kong surpassed AED 54.7 billion by November 2024. He described this relationship as a strategic alignment between two vibrant commercial gateways, emphasizing their investor-friendly policies that foster bilateral growth.

Juma Abdulla Alhaj highlighted the importance of participation in global forums like InnoEX 2025 to advance Sharjah’s innovation agenda. He stated that SRTIP’s presence at the event underscores their commitment to building global partnerships that promote technological progress and investment in future-focused sectors.

During the event, the Sharjah delegation engaged with leading global technology firms, including Huawei and China Mobile, and visited the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. This park, one of Asia’s foremost innovation ecosystems, spans 330 000 sqm and hosts over 2 200 technology companies, providing an integrated environment for research and entrepreneurship.

The visit reinforced Sharjah’s commitment to fostering innovation through strategic partnerships that support investment in its free zones and technology parks. Discussions included collaboration in startup incubation and the potential for co-hosting industry events to enhance entrepreneurship and knowledge exchange.

Additionally, the delegation toured Cyberport, a key innovation hub in Hong Kong that nurtures the digital economy. The hub seeks to drive investment in digital transformation and empower emerging innovators in both markets.
