Dr. Greiche Group has announced a substantial investment of EGP 500 million (approximately $9 million) to establish a high-tech automotive glass facility in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt. This investment aligns with the country’s national strategy to localize advanced industries and address the domestic production gap, according to a press release from the company.

The new facility, which will cover an area of 25 000 square meters, is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026. It aims to become the most advanced automotive glass manufacturing plant in the Middle East and North Africa, catering to the growing demands of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in local, regional, and international markets.
Equipped with cutting-edge technologies imported from Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and China, the plant will produce ultra-thin automotive glass, with thicknesses as low as 2.1 mm. This innovation will primarily serve the increasing demand from electric vehicle manufacturers. Additionally, the facility will offer digital printing capabilities and thermal technologies that have not been available in the region before.
The investment is expected to create over 500 direct jobs and approximately 150 indirect jobs, bolstering the local community and supporting Egypt’s broader industrial development plans. Dr. Greiche Group also plans to manufacture complex glass components that have never been produced in the region, such as thermal roofs and solar rear panels, contributing to the global shift toward green mobility and energy-efficient solutions.
