PowerChina Expands Renewable Energy Investments in the Gulf Region

PowerChina is reaffirming its commitment to expanding operations and increasing investments in the renewable energy sector within the Gulf region. Jin Huibin, the Country Representative and Commercial Manager of PowerChina, emphasized that the Middle East, particularly the Gulf countries, offers numerous large-scale projects and significant investment opportunities. His statements were made during the World Future Energy Summit, part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, and were reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

As reported by WAM, Mr.Huibin highlighted the UAE and the broader Gulf region as strategic markets for PowerChina. He underscored the open investment environment in these areas, which provides substantial opportunities for global companies to participate in the development of clean energy solutions. Notably, PowerChina ranks among the world’s top 500 companies on the Fortune Global 500 list and is recognized as one of the six largest construction firms according to ENR’s Global Contractors rankings.

In discussing PowerChina’s plans in the UAE, Jin noted that the company is collaborating with partners like Masdar and EDF on future projects aimed at enhancing clean energy solutions. These initiatives align with the UAE’s vision to increase renewable energy usage and reduce emissions, positioning PowerChina as a crucial partner in achieving the nation’s sustainability objectives.

Furthermore, Jin explained that the company is concentrating on supporting the transition to clean energy through large-scale projects, which include the establishment of solar power plants and other innovative initiatives. He also mentioned that PowerChina has previously signed several agreements in the region, including a significant 1.5 GW solar energy project in the UAE.
