Revibe, a UAE-based startup specializing in guarantee-backed refurbished electronics, has successfully raised $7m in its Series A funding round. The round was co-led by ISAI and Resonance, with additional backing from Kima Ventures and football star Edouard Mendy, Gulf Business reported.
Launched less than two years ago, Revibe has quickly made a mark in the $6bn refurbished electronics market across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The company has already sold over 80,000 refurbished devices, saving customers $14m while reducing CO2 emissions by more than four million kilograms and conserving 960 million liters of water.
Revibe offers refurbished smartphones, laptops, gaming devices, and smartwatches at prices 30 to 70 percent lower than retail, supported by a one-year warranty, free shipping and returns, and 24/7 customer support. Co-founder Abdessamad Benzakour emphasized that their focus on quality assurance and affordability has fueled their success, especially as sustainability and cost-conscious buying gain traction in the region.
The company plans to use the new funding to expand into emerging markets and strengthen its customer care and quality assurance teams. Co-founder Hamza Iraqui highlighted their commitment to sustainability, stating that the startup’s business model proves that environmentally conscious ventures can also be financially viable.
ISAI Principal William Vermont praised Revibe’s strong growth and focus on accessibility and sustainability in consumer electronics. Resonance partner Maxime Le Dantec noted that Revibe’s rapid success positions it as a leading player in the MENA market, with the potential to dominate a $30bn global opportunity.
Revibe’s growth is further supported by its recent investment in mobile apps for iOS and Android, aimed at making the shopping experience smoother for customers. With a growing market for refurbished consumer electronics, the startup is well-positioned for continued success.
