The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has recently signed nine new cooperation agreements with key property developers and free zone authorities in the emirate. These agreements are aimed at streamlining the approval process for infrastructure projects and managing activities within public roads and right-of-way areas, ultimately enhancing road safety.

Among the notable signatories are some of Dubai’s leading developers and free zone authorities, including Emaar Properties, DAMAC Properties, Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Nshama, Al Futtaim Properties, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Investments Park, and the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority. The objective is to ensure that development projects align with the highest standards and regulations set by relevant authorities.
Bader Al Siri, Executive Director of Right-of-Way at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, stated that these partnerships are part of an integrated strategy to optimize the management of Dubai’s right-of-way. He emphasized that establishing a centralized framework for planning and executing infrastructure projects will enhance the efficiency of the road network, improve traffic flow, and ensure the safety of all road users, including both motorists and pedestrians.
Al Siri further noted the importance of collaboration between RTA, developers, and free zone authorities, describing it as a significant advancement in implementing Law No. (4) of 2021. This law governs the use of roads within development areas and free zones in Dubai. He highlighted that strong partnerships are vital for enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the emirate’s road infrastructure.
